Call For Papers(for Reseachers only!)
Otherness has been an issue of concern for researchers worldwide in a variety of fields. The international conference organised by the English department, faculty of letters, Ibn Zohr University on ‘ otherness’ will give opportunities to researchers to discuss and exchange ideas on different related concepts such as identity, the other, self, religion…Today, there is stronger need to cross geographical, political and cultural boundaries, and to work towards the possibility of a true world literature. Research in this field is imperative to face the risks of the globalization of images, discourses and cultures.We invite papers on Otherness in English, French and Arabic on any of the following areas:
- Post-colonial theory and literature
- Cultural studies
- Popular culture and mythology
- Women studies
- Cinema and visual culture.
- Language and Otherness.
Abstracts should be submitted by December 30th ,2009. Full conference papers should be submitted by February 25th ,2010. The presentation time for each paper is 20 minutes.
